Design and Creative Studios

You can make one asset that nails the brand. What you cannot promise a retainer client is the next forty.

The after state

The fortieth asset in the campaign looks like the first one, and your art director signed off before any of it reached your client.

[ The Shift ]

What is breaking right now

  • One good asset is not a campaign

The problem was never that the tools make bad pictures. It is that nothing holds the output on brand across a whole campaign, and a folder of one-off prompts cannot promise a retainer client consistency at scale.

  • Prompts are not a pipeline

The work happens ad hoc: a prompt here, a screenshot there. Nothing is written down and nothing reruns, so the person who did it last time is the only documentation you have.

  • The prototype has to ship, and it was not built to

Generating a working prototype is the part that got easy. Hardening it into something secure, accessible and maintainable did not, and the designer who generated it is often the one being asked to ship it.

  • Leadership will not sign off on drift

Nobody wants to explain why week three of the campaign looks like a different brand. Without a fixed reference set, written rules and a human approving the output, the AI assets stay in the pitch deck.

[ Where We Fit ]

The part we build

Brand-trained image pipeline

Run your client's house style again next quarter and get the same look back. Under the hood: a ComfyUI pipeline and a LoRA trained on a reference set your art director curates.

Curation and written governance

An asset made next quarter is checked against what the first one was. We write the reference set, the do-and-do-not rules and the drift checks; a human directs and approves before delivery.

Prototype to production

The prototype your team generated becomes something you can put your client's name on: every state handled, accessibility fixed, readable code. Scoped to design-led builds, where design is why the thing exists.

Build under your brand

Nothing is lost between the file and the deployed component: one team designs the interface and builds it, no handoff. You stay the studio of record, and your client never meets us.

What is already shipped behind this#

We run three products of our own: ROIkeep for agency operations and Latent for social publishing, both in alpha, and Ezly for communication, which is shipped. They are here so you can check that the team behind your engine ships production software. Closer to your own work sit designrift, our open-source CSS token and Tailwind theme generator with WCAG-compliant contrast, and UX and UI design, the engagement model behind every design claim here: design and build together, with no handoff.

Software studios owns engineering depth and prototype to production; here that work is narrowed to design-led builds. Social carries brand consistency as a product feature across many client accounts; this page carries it as a build, for one client's house style at a time.

[ The Ladder ]

Three ways in. Enter at one rung and move when it makes sense.

Every rung here is scoped and quoted against the stack you already run, so no figure on this page stands in for a quote.

The product

Brand-style and pipeline diagnostic

Scope
A fixed-scope diagnostic: we read your visual corpus and answer whether a governed model can hold it.
What it covers
  • Visual corpus audit with a verdict
  • The dataset-curation and art-direction plan
  • Governance rules, reference set and drift checks
  • A written build scope with exit criteria
Where it stops
The diagnostic produces a plan and a scope, not a model.
Book the diagnostic

Bespoke customization

The brand-trained image engine

Scope
The normal deliverable here: a model of one client's house style, delivered as your studio's own work.
What it covers
  • Governed model on your approved reference set
  • The pipeline that reruns it
  • Do-and-do-not rules and drift checks, written down
  • Optionally the design-led prototype-to-production build
Where it stops
A human approves before delivery, and the model holds its reference set rather than becoming a general-purpose generator.
Scope a build

Full build

Hosted pipeline and governance retainer

Scope
The recurring layer: we keep the pipeline running and the model on brand as the brand moves.
What it covers
  • A maintained pipeline you brief into
  • Model refreshes as the brand evolves
  • Drift monitoring against the agreed reference set
  • New assets, approved by your art director
Where it stops
The retainer is bounded and agreed before it starts: named campaigns, named scope, agreed review rhythm.

[ Questions ]

What buyers ask first

What can you build beyond what this page covers?

Most of it. This page carries the part built for your kind of company; the full build surface, from web and SaaS engineering to self-hosted AI, sits on one page, item by item. Browse everything we build

Do you work under our brand?

Yes. You keep the client, the brand and the relationship, and your client never meets us. That is a description of how we deliver, not of what we are: Silverthread Labs is a B2B SaaS development company, and building behind a studio is one of the ways that work reaches a market.

How many images does a style model actually need?

Fewer than most people expect, which is exactly why the count is not the interesting part of the answer. A style model runs on a small, carefully chosen set: tens of images, not thousands. The choosing is the work. Variety, representativeness, and which examples you are willing to call canonical decide what comes out the other end. Anyone can download the same pipeline we run. Picking the right images with your art director and writing the rules that keep the model inside them is the part that does not come in a box.

What stops it drifting as the brand evolves?

Two things, and neither of them is the model. First, the reference set and the do-and-do-not rules are written down, so there is a fixed thing to check new output against instead of a memory of how it looked last time. Second, drift checks run against that set, and when the brand moves the reference set is updated first and the model is refreshed against it. A brand that changes direction gets a new reference set, not a re-guess.

Who art-directs it?

Your art director does, on your side of the wall. Nothing reaches your client without a human looking at it first: the pipeline proposes and a person approves, and that approval step is part of the deliverable rather than a courtesy we extend. We hold the plumbing and the governance. Taste stays with you.

Can you also ship the design-led build?

Yes, and it is usually scoped alongside the engine rather than sold on its own. Design and engineering are one engagement here rather than two with a handoff between them, so the build does not lose the design on the way out. If what you need is engineering depth or extra capacity rather than a design-led build, the software studios page is the one to read instead.

We tried a subscription tool and it did not fit. How is this different?

The tools in this category sell to end brands and in-house teams, and what they sell is a tool. None of them sells a governed build layer to a studio, which is why the lane is open. What you get here is a model of one client's house style, curated with your art director, governed to written rules, and delivered as your work. Make the comparison on fit, because fit is where the difference sits.

What does this cost?

It is quoted, and it is quoted after the diagnostic rather than before it. The diagnostic is fixed in scope with exit criteria in writing, and it ends with a build scope both sides can hold. We publish no band, because a number written before anyone has read your corpus is a guess, and a guess printed on a page starts behaving like a promise.
